What is ernest givins?

Ernest Givins is a former American football wide receiver who played in the NFL for 10 seasons. He was born on September 3, 1964, in Griffin, Georgia. Givins played college football at the University of Louisville before being drafted by the Houston Oilers in the 2nd round of the 1986 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Houston Oilers, Givins became known for his playmaking ability and was a key part of the team's high-powered offense alongside Warren Moon and Haywood Jeffires. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1988, 1989, and 1990, and was a two-time First-Team All-Pro selection.

Givins retired from the NFL in 1995 after playing his final season with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He finished his career with 571 receptions for 8,215 yards and 49 touchdowns. Givins was inducted into the Houston Sports Hall of Fame in 2019 for his contributions to the city's sports history.
